For those who prefer spending their free time on physical activities, there is a wide range of different sport activities in Mácha’s region. And for those seeking activities but who do not have the necessary experience or equipment, there are specialised tourist agencies and rental offices which can help.

THE DOKSY EUROGAMES
This event is a weekend of sports in traditional and non-traditional disciplines. All games are team competition, and teams must always have five members including one woman and one member who is older than 45 years of age. More information is available at http://ehd.doksy.com.

BALLOONING IN BĚLÁ
Since 2001 the Czech Republic Hot Air Ballooning Open Championship has taken place in June in Bělá pod Bezdězem. If you fly a balloon and are interested in taking part, it is possible for a fee. In Bělá pod Bezdězem town is the ‘Balonové informační centrum’ (The ballooning information centre).

WATER SPORTS
There are many sports available on Mácha’s Lake, ranging from swimming to windsurfing. On the beaches of Mácha’s Lake are rental offices for boats, pedaloes and canoes. The area of Mácha’s Lake at Doksy also offers ideal conditions for yachting. Two yacht clubs (in Doksy and Staré Splavy) offer recreational yachting on the Lake – not only in the summer but also in winter.

  • WATER SKIING
    Near the village Stráž pod Ralskem is a reservoir called Horka where water skiing is available. The length of the run is 830m and the package includes eight sessions up and down.

  • RAFTING ON THE RIVER PLOUČNICE
    Rafting on the River Ploučnice starts in the village Stráž pod Ralskem.

    Ownership of a fishing permit allows fishing in the following lakes:
  • Recreational fishing on Nový rybník (New Pond) - Staré Splavy.
  • Sports fishing - Pateřinka Pond
  • Sport fishing on Čepelský rybník (Čepelský Pond) in Doksy


    • HORSE RIDING
  • There is a tourist riding hall in Vrchovany near Dubá.
  • Klub westernového ježdění (Western Horse Riding Club) in Česká Lípa.


    • ADRENALIN SPORTS
  • Jungle Creek at the entrance road to the main beach in Doksy and Staré Splavy.
  • Paintball near the village Srní.


    • MOUNTAIN CLIMBING
    The region offers many climbing landscapes, especially on sandstone rocks.

    SPORT GROUNDS
    Doksy and Staré Splavy have modern, perfectly fitted and equipped tennis courts. New tennis courts with complete tennis facilities were constructed in Česká Lípa in 2003. New artifical ice rink by Termit in Doksy!!!
